The Bedworth Symphony Orchestra was formed in 1971 and primarily draws musicians from Warwickshire and the Midlands. Rehearsals take place at the United Reform Church, Nuneaton, on Monday nights from 7:30. Membership is open to musicians of all ages and musical backgrounds.
The orchestra performs three or four concerts a year and has tackled such works as Holst’s Planets Suite, Rachmaninoff Symphony no 2. The orchestra has also premiered the ‘Suite of Kitchenettes’ by Iain Masson in 2003 and more recently Jonas Lovgren’s Symphony no 2.
The Bedworth Symphony became a registered charity in 2005 and is a member on the National Federation of Music Societies.
Since its humble beginnings forty years ago, the orchestra has continued to build upon concert successes and continues to bring high quality musical entertainment to the delight of its audiences.
In September 2017 the orchestra members were delighted to welcome Margarita Mikhailova as their new conductor.
